We Are All Americans
Can we all just finally get it? As this article from Upworthy shows, African Americans have been an inextricable and important part of the entire post-Columbus American experience almost from its very inception. Indeed, if generational presence here is the measure, they are more “American” than many others who are descended from much later (willing) immigrants. We are all Americans, just different ribbons weaving through an amazing tapestry. Let’s start acting like it.
