Essay Included in Read650 Event
E. Marmer | Free to Navel Gaze On June 11, 2017, I read my essay “Declarations” to a packed crowd at Sarah Lawrence College, where Read650 was holding it’s public reading event, “From A to LGBTQ.” Thirteen writers were selected to be part of the event, described by Read650 founder Edward McCann in this way:
“A remarkable group of straight and not so straight writers from around the country reflect on the theme with a taut collection of riveting, personal stories that run the gamut from A to . . . LGTBQ.”
You may see my reading, about my journey to self-awareness with my daughter as guide, at http://www.read650.com/?page_id=2093. Check out some of the other readings and events. It’s an amazing group of writers and a unique literary forum, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.
